The bowl has inclined edges, a dozen in number, representing the twelve tribes of Israel. The combination of the bowl’s blue enamel interior and the white silver represent Israel’s national colors. The sides bear alternating silver reliefs of pomegranates and palm trees. The base is embellished with embroidered strips of granulation and filigree. The crowns of the pomegranates are evocative of the royal station of the recipient of the grand bowl.
