Maccabee Hanukkiah

This extraordinary Hanukkah Menorah was designed in 1996 following a visit to Paris, it was created in sterling silver and blackened steel. It is 9” long and 6½“ high.

The visit to Paris brought inspiration of aesthetics and romance. The festival of Hanukkah celebrates the light which conquers the darkness, the bright flame which sheds warmth in the cold of winter, the miracle of optimism. It is common practice to display the lit Hanukkiah upon the windowsill to share with passer-byers. The rough black steel and shiny sterling silver contrast and complement each other, and are reminiscent of bars on grand windows entwined with flowering greenery.
